Form Contemporary Craft Review is an online craft review blog set-up after the closure of Form Contemporary Craft Gallery in Blaenavon, South Wales. During its short life, the Gallery became known for the high quality contemporary craft it showcased over its 3 years. The Gallery was well known all over the UK and sold work nationally and internationally.
The Gallery was set-up by Claire Scawn, a trained jeweller who graduated in 2006 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Ceramics from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) – one of Europe’s top ceramics courses. It was Claire’s passion for the mediums of ceramics, precious metal and applied arts that made the gallery so popular. As a maker herself Claire was able to represent the makers she exhibited with great knowledge of the processes and skills that they used.
This review site is an extension of that passion to educate others and promote the quality designer makers that she comes across throughout the UK.
